How Often Should I Replace My Car Battery?

For many individuals, automotive maintenance is a total mystery, especially when it comes to how often you should replace your car’s battery. Therefore, the Service Department at Molle Toyota would like to clear a few things up regarding this component, so you can avoid the inconvenience of needing a jump. If you end up deciding that you’re due for a new battery, head straight over to our location so we can set you up with a quality part.

Our Recommend Timeline

First things first, let’s go over the lifespan of a typical battery. When a fresh one is installed, you should be able to expect up to five years of service before you’re due for a replacement. That being said, there are several factors that can impact this timeline and require you to stop in somewhat sooner. For instance, we experience significant temperature variations in the Midwest throughout the year, and these extreme highs and lows have an adverse effect on the electrical chemistry within the battery. Additionally, the more frequently you start your car, the more quickly its charge will deplete, so try to limit the number of errands you run throughout the day.

Routine Inspection

Since your battery can go a long time without needing too much attention from you, it’s easy to forget about it until there’s a problem. To help prevent any unpleasant surprises, it’s wise to inspect its condition on occasion by popping the hood and checking it out. Be on the lookout for issues like frayed or loose wires, the buildup of corrosion, and a casing that’s either cracked or bloated, as these are all strong indications that something isn’t quite right. Along with these physical deficiencies, you can also keep tabs on your battery’s health by making note of how quickly your engine fires up when you engage the ignition. A slow response means that it’s ready for retirement!

I have nothing but good things to say about Molle Toyota. This car looks good and drives good. At highway speeds however the wind noise is unbearable. Still trying to get the wind noise stopped at the drivers side door. Taking a car in for repair is like going to the doctor. About the only way to get it fixed is to google the symptoms and diagnose the problem yourself. Anytime this 2020 Toyota Camry XSE is being driven at highway speeds the wind noise at drivers side door is so loud a person would have to put an ear plug in their left ear in order to hear the radio with their right ear! If you ask your passenger if they can hear a wind noise on the right side the comment is.... I don't know, there's too much wind noise from the drivers side to tell. I need to clarify that my problem is not with the staff at Molle Toyota. My problem is with the Toyota Camry. I’ve had several cars in my lifetime. None of them had wind noise at highway speeds like this. My review is an average of 3. I’m giving the staff a 5 and the Camry a 1.

I brought my Tacoma into Molle for routine maintenance. A couple of days later I noticed some droplets of red fluid under the truck when I backed it our of our garage. I spoke to the service department and brought it back to check it out. After a thorough check they did not find anything leaking and suspected some coolant may have overflowed when the truck was serviced. Don was especially helpful and they replaced the service reminder tag on the windshield which had some missing information. Occasionally things happen, but I appreciated the way everything was handled.

Due to sales and financing options, a new car would have been almost the exact same sales price, so Ray showed us the options, but with no pressure. In the end, they didn't have the color we wanted in a new car so we went with the used. Again, they didn't pressure us at all, just showed us what was available.
